iphone portals

as many of you friends know, i recently got an iPhone and can’t shut up about it or put it down. having internet everywhere is amazing, but the edge network is slow and the screen is small, so most sites are not ideal to browse on the iPhone. this week i have been on the prowl for sites optimized for the iPhone’s screen and memory.

my favorite site so far is leaflets. it combines my 2 favorite news sources - new york times and newsvine. it also has a link to my del.icio.us links, and may just be the right tool to get me back into baseball. there is also an app list to link to a bunch more iPhone designed web apps. navigating the site is beautiful, easy, and wicked fast.

another good iPhone site is gridgets. this one is more customizable, but comes with a bunch of not as useful web apps like lame games. seriously, who wants to play web tetris with lag?

netvibes also has a good iPhone portal version, but its not as pretty as the first two. still, this is a good option if you already use netvibes in your computer’s browser.

besides these all-in-one sites, facebook and google reader are my two favorite sites to browse on the iPhone. facebook is just flat-out gorgeous and google reader is my favorite time-waster. now, when will google make an iPhone version for gmail. PLEASE!
